Rising from Heartbreak: How We Can Stand Stronger Together
Share
I won’t sugarcoat it—I’m heartbroken. This election has cut deep, leaving a wound I didn’t see coming. Seeing so many women turn away from other women, and men in our own communities, especially Latino men, failing to stand up for the women who’ve been there through thick and thin… it’s devastating. It hurts to feel that when we needed solidarity most, we fell short. But let me tell you right now, this isn’t the end. This is our call to rise up, even stronger, even louder.
More than anything, these results have reignited a fire in me. I refuse to sit on the sidelines, feeling helpless. I won’t let this be a moment where we back down, where we simply “accept” things as they are. No. This is the moment we transform our pain into power. This is the time we stand taller and reclaim what it means to be a woman standing by other women. To be a community that uplifts, empowers, and refuses to let each other fall. And to that, I say: we’re just getting started.
I’m grateful to our Madam Vice President for sparking a glimmer of hope in us all. Thank you for showing us the possibility, for proving that we belong at the table, for lighting the way forward. That light lives on in each of us, as a beacon not just for today, but for the days and years to come. For my daughter, for your daughters, for every woman who has walked before us and will walk after us.
So here’s what I’m asking of you. It’s okay to feel heartbroken. It’s okay to feel angry. Those emotions are real, and they matter. Don’t ignore them. Honor them. But let’s also use them to fuel our next steps. Let’s build the kind of unity and support we were missing, starting right here, right now. Let’s pledge to support each other, to choose collaboration over competition, to be allies, not adversaries. To choose each other.
I am making it my mission—my life’s work—to help every woman understand her own worth, her own strength, and the power of standing together. It’s time to step into that truth, to break away from the idea that we are in this alone or that we have to fit a mold that doesn’t honor who we are.
And to any woman reading this, if you feel this fire, too—if you’re ready to take a stand and start creating real change—I’m inviting you to join me. Together, let’s make the next four years about transformation. Let’s make sure we’re never in this place of heartbreak again. Let’s build each other up, hold each other up, and stand so fiercely together that our strength cannot be denied. Because we’re done sitting on the sidelines. We’re done waiting.
Let’s rise up.
Choose you, love you, pick you. 💕✨
